For this weeks project, I created 8 Silhouettes for our game characters. 4 of them are the protagonist which are the top ones, and 4 are the antagonist, which are the bottom ones. Letter A was what I call a crazy idea in which this is actually Dante's daughter who became a nun, and the events of the game would happen way after the original story. This also explains why Satan is completely frozen instead of just half way like the original lore. Letter B was inspired by Ebenezer Scrooge and represents Dante as a grumpy old man who never truly learned morals. C was meant to be a younger Dante with more elegant clothes than what he usually has, representing his wealth as a successful poet. Finally letter D is the lore accurate Dante equipped with one of his poems in his hand.
For letter E, This is another crazy idea in which Satan is represented as a chimera of creatures equipped with a staff to control and command his fellow fallen brothers. This version of Satan offers opportunities for the team, especially the level designers as it could be very easy to climb on top of this version of Satan as well as climb on the staff since we want to create a parkour sequence where the player climbs Satan. Letter F represents Satan as the icon Baphomet, who gets misconstrued as Satan all the time, but the design is very historic and badass. Letter G represents Satan's original form Lucifer. I had a thought where as he lay frozen, defeated by himself, he reverts back into his original form with a tear in his eye. A cold reminder that he is prisoner here. Then finally we have letter H which is the lora accurate Satan from the original Dante's Inferno, equipped with 3 heads and an uncanny human body.
I gave very different concepts to my team in order to create creative diversity and give them maximum choice for narrative and design.
